For a few weeks now my computer has been running very slow - takes forever to load at startup and "winds up" frequently. When I check my task manager my Trend micro Anti-Spyware is just hogging resources off and on. Anyway, I thought if I posted my hijack this log someone might see something? Norton find nothing. Spybot and Trend Micro find nothing. I've cleaned my disk & defragged as well as cleared my prefetch folder (then rebooted twice). Here it is:

Well, in my experience, both Norton and Trend micro are resource hogs - s running both of them could be the root of your problem. Try temporarily disabling Trend micro. I am not qualified to read the HJT log however you do have a LOT of running processes.

EDIT: I would say, don't try repairing anything with HJT on your own unless you have experience with it!

oooops. Too late. I removed about 4 entries, but haven't had any problems so far and have rebooted too.

Figured out what the hang-up was - unfortunately it was the Trend micro Antispyware program. It's funny cause almost 2 years ago when I got this machine (Sony Vaio Desktop) and it was already installed on it, it wasn't hogging resources and causing the computer to constantly wind-up.

After terminating tmasy.exe (Trend micro), my computer has been zipping along and haven't had 1 "wind up". :)

    Thanks.

Been using a combination of Spybot-SD Resident Shield and AVG Anti-Virus for several months now and my resources are in excellent shape and I have not had a virus or even any spyware since!

    I like this combination!

Am glad a bailed on Norton and Trend-micro - the fact that they both hogged my resources so much was the determining factor for me to make the change.

    Thanks.
