Hi, I have this problem with some full screen games. As some work fine, others just either pop up with the box saying "Video Mode not Supported" or a black and white screen. I am not sure what is wrong. I tried downloading a newer driver for my video card. It did work because I tried playing the game after I downloaded it. But after I restarted my computer, it returned back to normal where it either shows the box or black/white screen. I believe my computer can display it but it just won't after restarting my computer, but if I install the driver again, it works again until I restart. (same thing):(

    Regards,

I had this before, try changing the resolution on the desktop to a higher rez. This worked for me. Not sure what causes it but my guess is that the screen is havening difficulty's moving from one rez to another... but that's just a guess, and probably not a very good one :p

if it works, and you can get into the game, play around with the in game rez.
Also if its an older game, try putting it into computability mode.

Go to your program files and find the game's .exe file. Right click it and select properties. select the Compatibility tab, and click "Run this program in compatibility mode for:" and depending on the age of the game, probably use "Windows XP (Service Pack 2)" or "Windows 98 / Windows ME"

it looks like you got an okay graphics card,
and XP, unlike vista...normally has no problem changing resolutions....
Try reinstalling your graphics drivers or looking for updated ones.
