You probably got some junk on your machine. Do this:

Download Spybot - Search & Destroy from http://security.kolla.de After installing, first press Online, and search for, put a check mark at, and install all updates. Next, close all Internet Explorer and OE windows, hit 'Check for Problems', and have SpyBot remove all it finds that is marked in RED. That ought to get rid of most of your spyware.

Next download & run adaware, from http://www.lavasoft.de open adaware & check for updates first then run it.

Hmmmmm. What you have is hiding from the two programs. Have you done a virus scan like at TrendMicro's HouseCall? Also, there is a new free online 'pest' scan at PestPatrol.

If those scans don't find something, it could be something that a Hijack This log would help to identify. I'm not a HJT expert, but there are some on this forum. Do this: Go to HijackThis site and download 'Hijack This!'Unzip, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button. Press that, save the log as a .txt file, and copy and paste its contents into your next post.

Most of what it lists will be harmless, so do not fix anything yet. One of the gurus can help.

    Hey Kurt,

I see you have put up your HJT log. I wish I could identify just what is going on, but I'm not one of the HJT log experts. I did some looking and a few things look suspecious, but It would be best to let someone with more experience tell you.

If you do not get a reponse here, then I'd repost a fresh thread with the log.

Something else you should look at is what is in your startup menu. You don't say what Windows you are using but go to "start", "run" and type in, msconfig.

Go to the "startup" tab and click it and you will find out what is starting up each time you power up.

Look at what you have in the startup menu and copy it down.
Next go to this site and see just waht you need in the startup menu:

    http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.htm

You may have much more starting up than you need and this will be a problem.
