Today the hyperlinks have become inopperative and I am puzzled as to why.
I am running Win2000 and in last two days I have downloaded Incredimail, checked my access defaults and cleared my registry of redundant files.

From trial and error, the hyperlinks that are inopperative represent URL's. I often can copy and paste these URL's; before this mishap, I was able to click on them.

Any ideas on how I may restore things?

Below is a copy of my most recent HijackThis log:

Sekirt that web page seems to describe my problem. Only I'm in a Catch-22. The suggested resolution did not work, presumably because I don't have those dll files. When I tried to download them, my clicking became inopperative.

I realize that everyone on the net is trying to reduce or eliminate popups, but I need to check if my computer is popup enabled. How do I do that on Win2000?

All the DLLs should be available within Internet Explorer software and can probably be extracted from there off your hard drive. Or try reinstalling IE from Microsoft.

Did you install a pop-up blocker? Or a program such as the Google Toolbar which includes a pop-up blocker? If you didn't, then you don't have one. It is not a standard Windows feature.

Sekirt, I did install iClean v1.0, which does have the ability to close popups and also to prevent multiple popups from opening. When I had the problem with inopperative hyperlinks, I deleted it. No change, even after rebooting.

Then I reinstalled it, but removed the check box that closes popups.

The reason why I was asking about how to check if my popups are enabled was that is one of the criteria for downloading the dll files. I thought that because I use dialup, downloading of the specific dll files would be faster than reinstalling all of IE.

I have Windows 98se but think that Windows 2000 would function the same way. Since you already have IE installed, going to MS and reinstalling goes rather quickly. Because it only fixes or supplies missing items. If someone knows otherwise, please jump in.

Hopefully that will get you up and running. Settings and emails should remain unaffected.
