Hi I've been trying to find out all the info I can on this stupid spyware and all information takes me to your forum. As you may already know I have a stupid pop up that keeps occuring every so often. The pop up displays some sort of add and identifies itself as "Popuppers advertisement window3"

I was reading some of the forum questions and It appears I need a Hijack log for you to be able to help so I downloaded the program and here is my log.

    Hello choeml! :D

    Download Ad-Aware SE from here:
    http://www.download.com/3001-8022_4-10319876.html

Install and run Ad-Aware SE. On the bottom right corner of Ad-Aware you will see an option called "Check for updates now", click on that and choose "connect". Download the updates. Next click on "Scan now" on the left side of Ad-Aware. Make sure that "Search for negligible risk entries" is crossed out and not ticked. Choose "Perform full system scan" and click "Next". After Ad-Aware scans your computer, Ad-Aware may find some bad files on your computer so make sure you tick them all and choose "Next". It will ask if you want to remove those items so just continue. After removing the items close Ad-Aware.

    Download Spybot S&D from here:
    http://users.skynet.be/fa936042/spybotsd13.exe

Install and run Spybot S&D. Choose "Search for updates". Next choose "Download updates". After that, choose "Search and Destroy" and click on "Check for problems". If Spybot finds any nasties on your computer, make sure that they are ticked and choose "Fix selected problems".

    Download SpywareBlaster from here:
    http://www.majorgeeks.com/downloadget.php?id=2859&file=11&evp=61b0e8ad41924a03c37615f4682b4cef

Install and run SpywareBlaster. Click on "Updates" and then choose "Check for updates". Next choose "Protection" and at the top you will see different tabs which are Internet Explorer, Restricted sites and Mozilla/Firefox. Choose one of them at a time and at the bottom click "Protect Against Checked Items" (make sure that all of the items are checked). Tick the boxes above the items. Make sure you do this for all of the top tabs. Mozilla/Firefox you only need to do if you have the user profiles on your computer. You may now exit out of SpywareBlaster.

    Download CWShredder from here:
    http://cwshredder.net/bin/CWSInstall.exe

Install and run CWShredder. Click on "Check for Update" and download the latest updates. Next, click on "Fix". Exit out of CWShredder.

    Download DelDomains from here:
    http://www.mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf

After downloading the file, Right-Click and select "Install". This will get rid of the O15 entries in HijackThis.

Restart your computer and post a fresh HijackThis log back on this thread.

How to boot in safe http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/tsgeninfo.nsf/docid/2001052409420406?OpenDocument&src=sec_doc_nam]mode[/URL]

Because XP will not always show you hidden files and folders by default, Go to Start > Search and under "More advanced search options".
Make sure there is a check by "Search System Folders" and "Search hidden files and folders" and "Search system subfolders"

Next click on My Computer. Go to Tools > Folder Options. Click on the View tab and make sure that "Show hidden files and folders" is checked. Also uncheck "Hide protected operating system files" and "Hide extensions for known file types" . Now click "Apply to all folders"
    Click "Apply" then "OK"

Reboot in safe mode and delete this file

    C:\WINDOWS\newpop63.exe

Reboot and post a new hijackthis log

    Hi!

First, check in Control Panel> Add/Remove Programs and uninstall MediaMotor if it appears there.

You need to run Hijackthis and fix these items:

    O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [popuppers64] C:\WINNT\a64sddd.exe

    O15 - Trusted Zone: *.media-motor.net
    O15 - Trusted Zone: *.popuppers.com

Then Boot to Safe Mode> to do this, you tap the F8 key quickly several times when you restart the computer...when you get the startup menu, with your arrow key select Safe Mode (only) and have no Internet Explorer windows open at all...this means, these forums and the Net will not be available, so copy and paste these steps into a Notepad text file and save to desktop so you can read them in Safe Mode (or print it out).

    Do this:

You may have other user accounts so you may have to empty the temp folders for them too!

Find and delete this file by navigating in Windows Explorer to the C:\WINNT folder and examining the contents of that folder for the file shown at end of the line>

    C:\WINNT\a64sddd.exe <delete the FILE

Restart, and run a full scan with AdAware/Spybot etc.
You should be in Normal mode now...

    Download ยปwww.mvps.org/winhelp2002/DelDomains.inf

Right-click on the deldomains.inf file and select 'Install'.

This should clear out those trusted entries that will not be removed. Note: In fact this will clear out ALLyour trusted and restricted zones entries. If you had any custom entries (like IESPYAD) you will need to re-enter those.

Do you know what this is/use it etc?

    O16 - DPF: {EEF29D20-9A47-4657-ADF7-283EC2504001} - http://download.bigwebportal.com/toolbar2/winenc32.cab

Run HJT and post a new log.
