I am on Wanadoo anytime dial up network. The phone number and my account name keeps changing by itself. This happens after some unwanted software downloaded itself on my computer.so I keep connecting to some presumably premium rate service which i dont want.there was an icon on my desktop pointing to a program in C/Windows called 'internet.exe.'So I deleted it and the dubious icon and reset up my wanadoo account by downloading the software from their site.So far so good. Then i deleted the corrupted dial up networking account. But now the 'new' wanadoo account is corrupted and i havent even been back on the net.I presume i have a 'dialler' as this is what i believe they are called i also believe getting rid of it involves editing the registry and or .ini files.....plese can someone tell me what to do?
Running Windows Me, IE explorer 5.5.

Go to Go to http://www.downloads.subratam.org/hijackthis.zip , and download 'Hijack This!'.
Unzip to a permanent folder like c:HJT\HijackThis.exe, doubleclick HijackThis.exe, and hit "Scan".

When the scan is finished, the "Scan" button will change into a "Save Log" button.
Press that, save the log somewhere, and please post the contents back here.

Most of what it lists will be harmless or even required, so do NOT fix anything yet.
I (or someone here) will be happy to help you analyze the results.

Thanks jwbirdsong
Enclosed log from hijackthis.I may have sorted it out , not sure;in msconfig i found in startup tab a suspicious duplicate windows explorer! It said C:\Windows\System\explorer.exe. -go -c9 -w.So i unchecked it and deleted the file from windows \system.So far (today only) the dialler hasnt altered my settings again.I think I may have disabled it.But there may be other nasties lurking in my system.I dont know how this nasty got onto my computer i had a message yesterday saying 'malicious script' detected and assuming it was my antivirus i clicked onto the 'remove message' option...maybe it was the dialler program masquerading as antivirus software to make me download it.That is a weird thought it if works like that.anyway here is the log;Logfile of HijackThis v1.98.2

Restart your computer.

Go to Control Panel > Internet Options. On the General tab under "Temporary Internet Files" Click "Delete Files". Put a check by "Delete Offline Content" and click OK. Click on the Programs tab then click the "Reset Web Settings" button. Click Apply then OK.

Empty the Recycle Bin

Now please go into msconfig and re-enable all disabled startups. Restart you computer, scan again with Hijack This and post another log.
