Okay gurus, I've got a really annoying problem that I can't sort out. Would really appreciate if anyone's got any ideas ...

Problem: Every 30 seconds something interrupts whatever I'm doing on the system. E.g. if I'm typing in a word processor, the word pro application window goes dead, and whatever characters I've typed for a couple seconds during the interrupt are lost, then the word pro window regains control after a couple seconds.

In the Task Manager I see that a PowerShell process pops up every time this happens, then disappears after a second or two.

The Event Viewer shows this ...

WSMan appears to indicate a remote process?

How do I figure out what app or whatever is doing this??

Thanks!

Run a virus check and a firewall program and see if they report anything!
Powershell is used to write scripts so somewhere you have one started or scheduled.

Also use msconfig to show a start up list and post it in a reply.

Thanks for the follow up,

I've already run a full virus scan with Avast, and a full malware scan with MalwareBytes.

I've run the GRC/ShieldsUP firewall scans -- would you recommend any other firewall scans?

The msconfig startup list is here ...
