The past few days I have noticed the spinning globe in the top right corner of windows will turn but it will "flash" brightly when it makes-I suppose one turn. Right now I have the MSN butterfly.
Additionally, some times a windows seems to be fully loaded but the blue bar on the task bar does not go away, the globe is still turning and if I hit stop, all it fine. This last tid bit has been occurring for sometime.

I don’t have the slightest idea what a MSN butterfly is. Some sites just seem to load OK and the globe keeps spinning. I don’t display the bar. It has to be the site.

The globe flash isn’t normal – at least not on my computer which has had just about every version of IE since it was released. Maybe it has something to do with the butterfly.

I haven't even the slightest idea how this "came to be". I have not done anything, knowingly, to change, amend or install any apps that would do this. I have read about the throbber but nothing more. A closer look at the "bright flash" I see what looks like the butterfly when the "flash" occurs. I was an MSN ISP user for about 2 years; all before I went to DSL last August and MSN started using the butterfly with one of its' MSNIA updates. I don't 'think' one has any thing to do with the other but still I am puzzled.
    Thanks for your time.
AND Mosaic1 many thanks for that Reg File you sent to me by way of Cowboy. I have it saved in my work folder--just in case I should need it.
Slipe--I should have thought to add that I have a couple of your posts to other folks saved in My Documents folder for future use. Enjoy reading posts made by both of you.
