    G'day,

I have had a Netgear WNDR3700 wireless router for over a year now, and have had no problems connecting to wireless devices (currently connects perfectly to: windows 7, OSX, Android, and Meego). I have recently purchased a Sony Bravia NX720, which has a built in wireless card.
When I connect the television via LAN to the router the internet works fine, however when I connect via my wifi network (i.e. there is no physical connection between the tv and the router) I get the following message:
    Connection Results
    Wireless Device On TV: found
    Local Access: OK
    Internet Access: Failed

I followed the instructions on post 991203-cannot-connect-sony-bravia-tv and get the following ipconfig /all results:

However, when I try to ping the television, using the IP Address 192.168.1.2 I get the following:

    Microsoft Windows [Version 6.1.7600]

    Ping statistics for 192.168.1.2:
    Packets: Sent = 4, Received = 4, Lost = 0 (0% loss),

    I have tried the following:
    - reset all Sony firmware using both LAN connection and downloaded file onto a usb stick
    - had everything reset by a sony tech
    - hard reset of router with assistance from netgear phone support
    - confirmed tv works on another home network (it does).

Could somebody please give me ANYTHING that will help me fix this? I have been troubleshooting for months now and have had no success.

    Thanks in advance!!

take the wireless security off the router and see if it will connect

are you sure the wireless on the TV was assigned this 192.168.1.2

Same status from tv (internet access failed) after removing all wireless security on my network (not that I'd be comfortable with that as a long term solution anyway!). TV has now been assigned 192.168.1.4
Something different - I am now able to ping the TV though:

No -but as a test its important
and it appears you now have an IP address and can ping it

so does it work with no wireless security

now put the wireless security back on and see if it will work now
also you may want to setup a fixed IP for the TV

what is the wireless security type you are using ?

IP address is valid, with no wireless security, however still no internet connection or local area network on the tv
Could you explain what a fixed IP is and how I can set it up for the TV?

a fixed IP is a number you enter into the settings - rather than allow the router to supply the numbers
    we can try that later
    first

what is the IP address on the TV ?

now from a PC ping that IP address and see if we get a reply

    to do that
    Ping Test .

Start> Run {search bar in Vista/W7}> CMD to open a DOS window and type:

    Type the following command
    Ping {plus a space and the number thats shown against the IP address on the TV just as an example eg ping 192.168.1.5 but your number may be different although I suspect will start 192.168 }
    Post back the results
    rightclick in the box
    select all
    enter
control key + C key - to copy
    then reply here and
control key + V to paste
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

to put a fixed IP on the TV we need to see the some of the network IP information - to do that from a working PC do the following
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------
    ipconfig /all
If you cannot access the internet with this PC, then you will need to paste the results into something like notepad and then copy onto a machine that can access the internet and post results here

We would like to see the results from ipconfig /all post back the results in a reply here

Hold the Windows key and press R, then type CMD then press Enter to open a command prompt box (A new dialogue box - black with white font, will appear on screen ):

In the command prompt window that opens, type the following command:

Note that there is a space before the /ALL, but there is NOT a space after the / in the following command.

    ipconfig /all > network.txt & network.txt

It will export the results to notepad and then automatically open notepad.

Now all you need to do is copy and paste those results to a reply here
    to do that:
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Select all
all the text will be highlighted
    Next
From the notepad menu - choose Edit - Copy
Now go back to the forum - reply and then right click in the reply box and paste
    ------------------------------------------------------------------------

well that was coincidance - the number i posted was just an example and happens to be your PC
i did not expect you to use the example -
but to work out what the TV IP number was and then ping that number

    can you do that ?

what are the settings for IP address, default gateway, dns used on the TV
