Sony Vaio FX101 motherboard

    I have a Sony Vaio FX101 but the motherboard has gone, does any one know where I can get another one from as everywhere says it has to go back to Sony. Can this be upgraded and if so what
    Its a Sony Vaio FX101 600 celeron processor and has 128 mb ram

    any help would be gratefull

    even if you cpuld source a replacement you have to ask yourself is it worth it, the technology is old and upgrade pathways therefore are limited. You maybe should think about getting a new mobo, processor and ram.

    Are you also sure its the mainboard and not the CPU, Video(if not part of the mainboard), power connections, or LCD, etc?

    As is the case with most laptops, unless you have a diagnostic station and know exactly whats wrong 100% don't bother with repair.

    You could sell the unit as non-working on ebay, get about $175-$300 as nonfunctional, then buy a working unit for about double that
