    Hi,

When I checked up it seems that there isnt a japanese make for the above Series. Is this information correct , if so what's the make I should look for if im buying a DSC-W230.
Is this a good Camera for its price.

Or is there any other camera I can look for, for the same price which has better specs/features.

    Thanks.....................................

The Jap companies seem to have good quality control over cameras assembled elsewhere. I haven’t encountered a quality control problem associated with where the camera was assembled, and I peruse the camera boards often.

The Sony W series has been good and are usually highly rated. Steve didn’t seem too impressed with the W230 though: http://www.steves-digicams.com/camera-reviews/sony/dsc-w230/sony-dsc-w230-review-6.html

You might read through this: http://www.dpreview.com/reviews/Q408budgetgroup/page15.asp Unless you plan on making large prints for the wall or doing extreme crops you can easily get by with seven or eight Mp. I would personally prefer the W120 over the W230 because of the optical viewfinder. It also seems to have good optics and performance.

If you want a sub-compact 12Mp in that price range the W230 is probably as good as most.
