Sort Error

    We have created a mail merge document that allows us to sort the data based on recipient.

    However, when i go to the edit recipient list and try to sort the list. the page is refreshed BLANK and all the data is missing. Only the check box column is showing.


    I have closed and reopended the document and tried to sort using the filter hyperlink on the page ...still receiving a blank page.

    HELP>>

    I imagine this is in Word?
    I know in Excel this can happend when the list you want to sort contains numbers as well as strings and you have to treat this all as one

    Yes, the mail merge is in Word, and the source is from an excel doc that does contain an alpha numeric string in one of the categories

    I suggest you see what happend when you sort in Excel. Maybe there are rows that are not really empty but contain a space, it could be recongnized as such and then you will only see the empty fields first.
    In word try just to merge a selection of records,
