I recently formatted and reloaded windows XP and cant seem to get my sound to work! I tried the Cd that came with the computer but it first says that its not compatible with XP and then says files corrupted! All I know is that my sound card says it is y microsoft and its MPU-410. Ive been fighting with this forever and cant find the right drivers or the problem. It does say that the device is working propperly but when i check to see the volume or if its muted it wont even pul the mixer up! PLEASE HELP!

Microsoft doesn't make soundcards. Please download PCwizard http://www.cpuid.com/pcw.php
and see if it can determine what model sound card you have..
