Hey Guys-
I was looking over other posts and wonder if I should put my questions under the hardware category.
Looks like I can join the ranks of those that have no sound!

The closest to my problem was the guy who had a modem problem and then no sound .... That's me.

By the way I would love to run the "detection software" (ie. on the modem) but them the my computer locks up and I have to reboot and then it goes inot safemode and I have to load step by step and then shutdown properly and then restart and I am fine but still no sound or modem.

Currently, I have removed and added various drivers all to no avail. The only thing that caught my attention was the fact that on one post Dan-O mention "sound" on the device manager I am just listing multimedia and all my drivers/joystick are showing but still nothing works. Is there a way to add "sound" to my selection on the device manager and perhaps go from there.

As I am getting all kinds of error messages on the sound and various programs won't run with out fixing this.

Need help Once again.... Thanks:D

Hi willow, I've split the thread into a new problem.....

We may as well start here with your last posting.

What other add-in cards do you have besides the sound card and modem?

I'd suggest that you remove them all (take them out of the machine), except the video of course, and install one by one.
