Hi,

My sound was working fine but i had to reformatted my computer and put XP back on it but now my sound doesn't work

I know the sound card is installed but the computer does not even recognize it, when i go to the device manager i only see audio codecs, and some others but i don't see my video card listed

If anyones' got any suggestions please let me know

Thanks Alot

Hi, Hav you tried running the Add New Hardware Wizard to let XP search your system to see if it will detect the sound card ?

Also; does this MB have on-board audio ? If not, did you remove the Sound Card recently just prior to your problem ? If it was, then try reseating the sound card into its slot. Be sure to observe electrostatic precautions. Let us know what happens.

It doesn't sound like your driver is loaded. You can probably go to the sound card manufacter's website and find the driver download. Save it to a floppy disk and try that.

I had the same problem at one time.
