Hi,
I'm currently having many problems with my computer, one of which is sound. I can't play any audio (ie mp3s, aol sounds, windows startup sound...). For some reason, I no longer have the speaker icon on the bottom right. When I go to my control panel it says "No device selected" and it is grayed out so I cant click. My speakers are set up correctly, and I know this because when I tried a DVD in my DVD-ROM drive, I heard sound. Could anybody help me? I'm running Windows 98.
My email address if you would like to email me regarding my problem

Hi Basskornkid, and welcome to TSG.Have you downloaded anything new lately? When did you first notice this problem.Have you deleted any files.A little more information will help a great deal.Do you have any music file sharing program installed, like kazaa, bearshare, limewire, etc?

Ok,you probably have to re-install the drivers for the sound card.right click on MY computer,,click on properties,>click on device manager>click on the + sign next to sound, video>right click on sound>click driver, click update drivers.Let us know if this works. If not do you have the restoration c/d?
