Soundcard VIA AC'97 help

    looking for a driver for my soundcard, intel 82801/ba/bam ac97,

    my prob is is that my cdrom wont play my cd's. it reads them fine, just can't hear any music.

    i am runnin windows xp pro, please help me:D

    Hi again, if your cd reads, and you get no sound....are you sure you have the cable connected from the back of the cdrom to the sound card?

    Do you have a volume icon in the lower right hand corner? If so, can you open it to be sure nothing is muted and volume controls are up......are your speakers powered? If so are they on? I know, stupid question, but it's happened.

    Is just that you don't have sound from audio cd's or any sounds at all. If you go to your control panel and to "sounds and audio devices" and to "audio" does it sound your sound card. If not you will need to determine the make and model of your motherboard and go to the manufactures website and download the sound drivers.
