I have a 5yr old Dell Dimension 9100 running XP pro. It crashed and I couldn't even get it to go into Safe mode. Ended up having to rebuild from the Dell reinstallation CD. Seems to be OK (Device Manager has no yellow markers). However there is a problem with sound output. I have a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 ZS sound card in it, running an Altec USB Audio Desk top 2 speaker system. It worked fine before the crash, but now I can hear sound through the earphones, but get no sound through the Altec speakers. When I boot up I get a screen that says: SPI (Creative X-Fi Module) has encounted a problem and needs to close. I've tried downloading the Sound Blaster driver from their site, but that didn't solve the problem. Suggestions?
