Spamhaus has blocked my private law practice. I'm mystified.

I have an IT issue I want to pick the group's brain on.
My work email has been listed by Spamhaus. Lovely. The only people I email are existing clients who prefer to communicate with us through email, and people I am communicating with regarding legal cases. Professional document translators, professors we get consulting opinions from, stuff like that. Because of the block, I can't email my accountant (!!!), a few professors we have long-standing relationships with, or a client we helped in 2015 who is requesting scanned copies of some old case filings.
It's a private law firm, and we are well-known in our area. We advertise on the radio. We don't send out mailers or anything. Honestly, we're always slightly overloaded for work.
Our email is based through hotmail. My email is something like [email protected] .
I can't unlist us as we're on the DBL list (?) Right now, I have made a gmail account for the office and we're using that, but it looks so unprofessional and I need to fix this. Advice?

That's how I confirmed what was going on.
The automated response is that they can't/won't help me and I should wait it out. Sorry, but I need to send an invoice to my accountant so my office cleaner can get paid yesterday, little piddling stuff like that.
Sorry, but this is one of the more infuriating parts of running a business. Taxes and getting good internet service are easier.

DBL removal denied
[lawfirmname].com cannot be removed at this time.

DBL listings expire over time, so if our systems do not see your domain for a while it will drop out of DBL zone. Many factors which affect your domain's reputation may also change over time, so by engaging in good reputation practices it will eventually drop out of DBL. For more information, please see DBL FAQ Why is my domain listed in DBL?."

It appears your website has also been suspended, so you should contact your hosting company to find out why.
Spamhaus will frequently list & not remove email domains that don't have an associated website or suspended website because they are used / have been used for spamming purposes.

I am guessing that your email account or web server has been compromised and mass spam sent through it
