My brandnew ASUS laptop, using Windows 7, is supposed to have really good speakers. The volume icon is a circle; at full blast, the icon only covers 25% of the circle. The volume just isn't what I would have expected. Any suggestions? Thank you.

Laptops don't generally have great speakers, anyway. They are small. I added external Logitech USB speakers and am amazed at the volume I get, considering that they are powerd by the 5 volts of the USB port. They also have very rich bass. I'd suggest something like that if you plan to use the machine for music or movies. (Of course "volts" doesn't have much to do with total power, technically, but you don't really expect much of either from a USB port. :D)
