Speakers by Cyber Acoustics CA 3080. The right speaker does not want to work properly. If I play with the wire on the back of the computer at times it will come in, but then shortly it will go out again. I tried the speakers on a portable CD player and the right speaker is fine. Does this mean my sound card is going out? Are they hard to replace (I have a Compaq 4090US)?

    Hello...

It sounds to me like the OUTPUT JACK on the sound card is going bad. Sometimes you can get inside there with a fine pair of tweezers, there are two small rings that push downwards... Pull them towards the center of the hole and see if that will fix it.

If not, you might need to think about getting a new sound card.
