I had installed Windows XP Pro in early January. This was after a full wipe.

I installed most software I used before the wipe as well as most updates. When I installed the SP2 update, I was unable to connect to the internet, getting the "limited or no connectivity" error that I've seen when googling that error. I read similar solutions that includes removing the SP2. That being done, i was able to connect to the internet again.

However, since that time, I have AVG automatically everyday or every second day doing a scan. That's not a problem. What is a problem is that it's always finding SOMEthing. Usually 1-3 files infected with a trojan horse proxy KEB.

It's removed, restarted. And i have done a full system scan with Adaware, Spybot AND AVG. Finding nothing or next to nothing.

As of the initial install, the speed of the machine has been slow. From booting to running applications. Some setup files won't even run either. This includes an MSN Messenger plugin called StuffPlug as well as the software and install CD for my new Pentax digital camera. A typical windows XP window opens, with the three buttons in the top right corner, blue bar across the top but blank on the page and no title on the blue bar. Task manager says it's running, not "not responding". But, nothing's happening. Besides those two, other setup files aren't affected at all. So far at any rate.

After posting my HJT log after removal, again, of the trojan horses, and a restart, i guess i have a couple of questions:

1) Put SP2 back? If so, how do i get around the limited, no connectivity problem?
2) Either or, how can i stop getting trojan horse proxy KEB all over the place?
3) Where is the speed?
