    Hi all,

I recently got a new laptop that runs Windows 10, and I use Google Chrome as my browser. As with my past laptop (also Windows 10), every time I spelled a word incorrectly, it would be underlined. A right-click on the word would give me a choice of words that would usually include the correct spelling; all I needed to do was click on the correct spelling and the word would be correct. This worked across platforms; my Gmail, obviously, but anywhere else I typed: my work email, here, anytime I type on line. The spelling was working fine until yesterday! I've had this computer about 2 weeks, and everything was normal until yesterday.

What is going on? Please help!

you have this marked as solved - button at the top

    Goto chrome settings
    scroll down
    choose advances
    scroll down
    Language and input settings
    click on that button
    Bottom of the page
    should have
    enable spell checking

    is that enabled ?

Yes, I figured it out on my own with a quick Google search! I seem to get better answers here, though! What was weird was that it happened all of a sudden; I didn't change anything in the settings. A ghost in the machine!

I had an issue on a clients PC yesterday , with chrome, which had failed an update - perhaps it was updating ?

I'm sure you're right! I find both my PC and iPhone needing updates just about every day. When I go to shut down the laptop, it asks me "update and shut down?" I've been using it sporadically only for a short time.
