I have been tring to change the windows me logo to a bmp pic that I have but when I edit it it just reverts back to the windows logo. Even though I changed the logo.sys to a different bmp.

I am going to use an answer that davey gave to someone else trying to do the same thing.
WinMe has logo.sys in C:\ folder for start splash
and logos.sys in C:\windows for shutdown.
Both are bmp files converted to .sys.
You have to name the ones currently listed to old and install your new as .sys

I'm in slow mode tonight so I'll just steal daveys answer again :)

logow.sys and logos.sys reside in C:\Windows folder.
If you wish to use a startup splash screen you downloaded
change the logos.sys in the windows folder to logos.old and
put you new in as logos.sys. Same for exit splash logow.sys.

That should work for your friend.

No it doesn't have to be a downloaded pic. It could even be something you made yourself.
