Thx for the update Tony:)

I'm not too sure as to how a dialer got installed on my system, called Pleasure2.exe. First I did the scan with Adaware and it didnt detect the dialer, the files in the log were some cookies. After trying with the Spybot which I downloaded from the link you posted and did the scan again;) , SPYBOT caught it and removed it all from the system! Good that I had a firewall installed or else I could've had further problems:p

TA.

Have a great day and weekend:)

No prob! :)

It has a number of interesting additions, including a Startup section.

It now also backs up 'fixed' system internals.

It's a good idea to uninstall the previous version, before installing this one.

D/I the new SpyBot--big thanks to Tony for the headsup!! Removed the older SpyBot from my system FIRST.
Found some on my system; 6 of which were RED and all others were GREEN and I had SpyBot to remove ALL but then I have had to sign in on each board I have visited. Not such a bad chore to do but is there one particular item that I should not have removed? Answer anyone??

I think you should have left the third item alone.

Tony, I knew that if you were about, I would get your answer. Many thanks and I'll remember that the next time I run it; or I won't forget more than once more :D

Buf,

I hope you understood that I was joking...:D

If you want some real advice next time, show us the SpyBot log, so that we know what we're talking about...

Tony:  Son of a gun: you were wrong this time!! It was not the third item but was the first (Green item): Internet Explorer(cookies). I shoulda known that!!! I have gotten the Avenue A. Inc. showing up in RED twice now but with a message that "they" don't do tracking now--I removed it!!! Maybe if I add that to my "off limits" sites in Security in IE properties I won't get that again.
Thanks for the April Fool's Day joke but..... I needed that. Have what is left of a good day also.

Hey buf, I'd point out that any cookies you wish not to be cleaned can be dealt with by excluding them @ Excludes/Cookies and just tick the ones you want protected. I would mention also that periodically clearing all cookies and cache is a good idea and can solve some probs when folks experience troubles logging in to certin sites. HTH

EDIT: OH. Hey Tony and ddraigcoch :)

Yes, welcome to the board. Thanks for the extra tip--my files are cleared of such things when I close down my puter; except for those marked to keep.
