Hello. I am trying to clean up my friend's computer. I have run Spybot S&D and Ad-Aware, which found several types of spyware/malware. Scans now appear clean, but the computer is lagging for no reason, and I haven't been able to find a cause. It will go from 10-20% usage to 100% with nothing major being run. Whie it is at 100% CPU usage, the system freezes for a few seconds. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

The computer is a Dell, Intel Celeron 2.53GHz with 512 MB of RAM. It is a 108GB HD with 100GB free.
