    Hi there,

Can anyone help me analyse my HJT log? I'm running Win 98 and it's been having all sorts of problems that X-Cleaner has only been able to detect but not eliminate.

Thanks to anyone who might be able to shed some light on this.

    Open HijackThis

    Close all browser/email/explorer windows

In HJT, click the "Open Misc Tools section" button
    Then click "Open process manager"

    Hi-lite: C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SQPKRP.EXE
    and click "Kill process"

Click the Back button (bottom right corner)
    Then run the scan again

Place a checkmark next to the following entries only
    and click "Fix checked"

    R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = http://rd.companion.yahoo.com/slv/ycheck/as/*http://

Can you shed any light on these entries?

    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [1] C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM /c erase "C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\ACSUNINSTALL.EXE"

    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [2] C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM /c erase "C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\ACSUNINSTALLRES.DLL"

    O4 - HKLM\..\RunOnce: [3] C:\WINDOWS\COMMAND.COM /c erase "C:\WINDOWS\TEMP\shfolder.dll"

Those files look like they're related to AOL software, but I'm not sure.

    Fix those 3 entries
and then manually empty the "C:\Windows\Temp" folder yourself.
Boot into Safe Mode to do it if Windows won't let you delete them.

I don't think that those entries are malicious, but better safe than sorry.

Apart from all that, your latest log is clean.

I'm also not sure about relying on PC Tools Spyware Doctor and AOL Spyware Protection.
Did you install SpybotSD and Adaware? I also recommend SpywareGuard and SpywareBlaster:
