Hiya

Download the updated documentation for Microsoft SQL Server 2000. SQL Server 2000 Books Online (Updated - SP3) includes the complete documentation that shipped with SQL Server 2000 plus revisions.

SQL Server 2000 Books Online (Updated - SP3) includes the following changes from the original version:

• Suggestions sent to Microsoft by customers using the feedback button available in every topic of SQL Server 2000 Books Online.
• Corrections of documentation errors reported after the last update to SQL Server 2000 Books Online was released.
• Additions to the SQL Server 2000 Books Online for SQL Server 2000 SP3 functionality.

To verify that you are viewing the updated version of SQL Server Books Online, check the title bar located at the top of the screen when you open Books Online. The updated version of SQL Server 2000 Books Online has the title "SQL Server 2000 Books Online (Updated - SP3)." Also, each topic that contains new material in the updated Books Online has this tag at the top of the topic: "New Information—SQL Server 2000 SP3." You can search for that string using the Search tab to find the updated topics.

SQL Server 2000 Books Online (Updated - SP3) is available for download as a cabinet file (.cab). This file contains multiple files that have been compressed into one extractable file. You can extract the compressed files by using an expansion utility such as Expand.exe, which is installed with Microsoft Windows®.

System Requirements
Supported Operating Systems: Windows 2000, Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows ME, Windows NT, Windows XP

SQL Server 2000 Books Online (Updated - SP3) is a collection of HTML Help documents and requires Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.0 or later (Internet Explorer 5.0 can be downloaded from http://microsoft.com/ie).

It is strongly recommended that all operating systems have the latest service packs and other updates installed, to ensure that the software will install and run correctly. Go to the Windows Update site to check for recommended updates.

SQL Server 2000 Books Online (Updated - SP3) is primarily intended for use on 32-bit operating systems. When you install it on 64-bit operating systems, we recommend that you install it as a separate product rather than overwriting any existing versions of Books Online. Additionally, running Setup.exe on 64-bit operating systems may cause an After Installation dialog box to display as installation starts. You can cancel this dialog box if it appears; it will not affect the installation.

If you want to use Books Online on Windows 95, you must have HTML Help 1.3 or later. You can update HTML Help by downloading the latest version from http://www.microsoft.com. The HTML Help update file is named Hhupd.exe.

SQL Server 2000 Books Online (Updated - SP3) is installed by Setup.exe. Setup.exe launches Sqlbolsetup.msi, a Windows Installer package. You must have Windows Installer 2.0 on your computer to run Sqlbolsetup.msi. If you do not have Windows Installer on your computer, Sqlbolsetup.msi will install version 2.0. If you have a previous version of Windows Installer on your machine, Sqlbolsetup.msi will update that version. In both cases you will be prompted to reboot your computer. You must run Sqlbolsetup.msi again after your computer restarts to complete installation of SQL Server 2000 Books Online (Updated - SP3).

You must be a member of the Administrators group on the computer where you are installing SQL Server 2000 Books Online (Updated - SP3).
