    hi all merry xmas, Norton anti-virus dropped in to do a scan as a bonus with adobe & they reckon! that Stardock is not trustworthy i can,t understand that its been with windows for i don,t know how long but even if i did uninstall it what would or could i replace it with i have no i idea :confused: could someone please help, Gazza

    As far as I can see there are three possibilities here:

    1: Norton is correct and Stardock is untrustworthy.
    2: Norton is correct and Stardock has been infected with a file infecter virus.
    3: Norton is incorrect and this is a false positive. Perhaps stardock shares a critical line of code with a piece of malware or it was caught on heuristics.

    One obvious first thing to do would be to scan it with a few more AVs. Norton should tell you exactly which exe file it believes holds an infection, and you can upload it here to scan with a bunch of other AVs without having to install them one after another.

    If you need help with malware removal then you should ask in the dedicated malware removal forum, where you'll get help only from certified helpers.

    I don't know what specific program you are referring to here, understanding that stardock has made games, Windows customisation utilities, and so on. Therefore I can't say what you could replace it with.
