I foolishly changed my start program scrolling to mimic Windows 95. Now when I have too many programs, I get side by side listings which go off the screen where I cannot see them. I know that I need to change the registry Value Name "StartMenuScrollPrograms", but Windows XP has another format than Windows 98 had.
Windows 98 had a data type of REG_SZ which would be set to yes or no. Windows XP has a data type of DWORD and a value of 0x00000000(0) which can only be changed to a value of 0-9. I have tried changing to a 1 and it is now set to 0. The Start problem persists no matter which value it is set to. Any help will be appreciated.

P.S. Someone said to just delete the entry, but that didn't work either.
