My start tool bar has suddenly moved from the bottom of the screen to the side. I have had this happen from bottom to top a few times and managed to click/drag it back into place. This does not seem to work. I know this is probably a simple command. Can you help me in moving it back to its "proper" place at the bottom of the screen? Thanks

Try pulling the edge making it wider before trying to drag.... when you do drag it, do it firmly & quickly straight down.

Let me know if that helped or not please.

Just my two cents. Be sure you are trying to drag from the bottom of the bar. You may have a top bar that shows addresses or says done and a bottom bar with icons for quick launch. Grab the bar with the icons on it.
