start up problem

    How do I get rid of internet 5 explorer syntax error message when I start up:( :(

    Hi yohohn,welcome to TSG.Go to Start>settings>control panel>Add and remove programs>highlight IE and internet tools>click on the remove button>the dialog box will open,put a tick in repair IE>click ok.

    Lets us know if this works for you.

    I gave the repiar IE a shot .... twice. the first time didnt work and on the second try the window (hung) frooze up and flipped over to a blue screen with a fatal error message. How much trouble am I in.

    Hard to say. We don't have a lot to go on here.

    Do you have the exact error message for us?

    Two things that are always useful and which you should do are the following:

    1) Have your computer scanned on line at <A HREF="http://housecall.antivirus.com/">Trend Micro HouseCall </A>

    2) Let's have a look at the applications that load automatically as Windows starts up:

    Go to Start/run, and type Msinfo32, followed by OK.
    Go to Software Environment/Startup Programs.
    Now click Edit/'Select all', and then 'copy'
    Paste the contents in your post.
