start up programs

    i want to disable start up programs. i know to click start, run, type:msconfig,go to start-up.then i see stuff i recognize, but i also see stuff i dont, such as m3MIpipe,dumprep o-k,mwsbar,reguard,jusched,iffxtray,hkcmd. does anyone know what these are?

    Just delete them all the important ones will reinstall themselves. Do not delete anything in the services tab these are all necessary applications.

    Of the processes you listed, recguard.exe is a process from HP that prevents a user from deleting or corrupting the WinXP Recovery Partition on Hewlett Packard computers so you want to keep that one.

    "mwsbar" is adware. You might want to post a HijackThis log and ask Malware experts to help get rid of it (instead of just turning it off).
