hi...i have notice something weird in a few pc's....whenever Windows starts (98 or ME) it pop up an explorer window in "c:\windows"....
it just happened from one day to the next...

    everything else is perfect.

i have been thinking about viruses, but these machines are fully and up-to-date protected.

to make thngs clear, these pc's are not together...they belong to very different people...

this is the simplest problem.some of these pc's are working from 8-5 everyday...and everything single program installed is working fine.

it's like if i put a shortcut for the explorer windows on the startup files or menus.....but of course i haven't..i have carefully checked so.

    thank you all.....martin

Try running MSCONFIG and click on the startup tab. See if the Explorer is starting and uncheck it.
