Hello! To address your problem, your "hourglass" taking so long is because Windows is working in the backround. Most likely loading programs some of which appear as icons in the taskbar or systray down by the clock. Do you have alot of icons running down by the clock? If so, you need to remove those programs running that you don't need starting when Windows starts. For example, some people have RealPlayer starting. RealPlayer doesn't have to start when Windows starts and can contribute to slower boots. (as an example) The list can go on and on. Post back with as much info as you can and someone here will direct you on how to post your starup programs. The more info you can provide will help us here solve your problem. Bear in mind that any number of causes could be slowing your startup including a virus infection. Always run Anit-virus software and keep it up-to-date.
