    WinME machine.

Just refomatted and it's hanging up a tad.

after the windows jingle is played and my wallpaper shows up, it hangs for about a minute before my icons and tool bar shows up. I've had this problem before and I forgot the fix for it. Anybody got an idea about the fix for this ????

    Hi

... have you updated your Windows files - go http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com and let it scan your system (original CD files may be outdated and other issues addressed)

... do you know what is running at StartUp? - to check go here and download the StartUpList (if you need help with this, paste your results here and we'll poke at it

    cheers

    C:\WINDOWS\EXPLORER.EXE
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\RPCSS.EXE
    C:\WINDOWS\SYSTEM\SYSTRAY.EXE

This is not necessarily all of the programs that are starting. (as well, some will start, run and then terminate)

I'm not sure what you used to produce that list, but the Startuplist (link above) will detail everything.

Jim - I searched all of your posts on this forum and I can't see a former fix ... do you recall where you got that info - perhaps we can recall it from that source.

    still having fun!
