Hi All,

I am a newbie here. :)

My PC have been having a little delay after a page loads (if you know what I mean). It has also been switching itself off now and again too.

Checked for viruses and malware etc. All clear.

Cleaned the interior of the tower (running a lot quieter now too :)).

I have emptied the recycle bin and hard deleted the contents of it.

My next step is on the startup bar.

I am unsure which programmes are needed and which ones I can untick on startup. I have unticked the DivXUpdates one.

I also notice that there are two on there (please see screenshot attached and in this post) of what appear to be Chinese or Japanese - That I have Encircled in red. Does anyone know what these are for please?

I use PrevX and Malwarebytes (current updates) and Avast free home anti-virus.

Your help is appreciated.

Most of the checked startup entries that I see in your screenshot can be unchecked in Start - Run - MSCONFIG - OK - Startup(tab).

Since I'm unable to see the entire command lines, let's see a HiJackThis log.

Go here and click the green icon to download and save HiJackThis 2.0.4.

After it's been downloaded and saved, close all open windows first, then double-click the saved file to install it.

Allow it to install in its default location - C:\Program Files.

After it's been installed, start it and then click "Do a system scan and save a log file".

When the scan is finished in less than 30 seconds, a log file will appear.

Save that log file.

Return here to your thread, then copy-and-paste the entire log file here.

Nothing needs to be checked in your msconfig startup list unless you want it to be.

The free ccleaner can be downloaded from FileHippo as surferdude2 says.
The official Piriform download is found here.
http://www.piriform.com/ccleaner/download/standard

I notice that you have regGenie installed. Using any registry cleaner is typically recommended against on this forum; they do not improve the performance of your computer and many cause a lot of real problems if you execute their proposed fixes.
