Hello everyone!! Here's a question for you. I currently have about 28 tasks running continuously. I understand this slows the computer and browser down considerably. How do I shut down these tasks? How do I know which tasks should be running all the time and which to shut down that are not necessary (ie: virus programs, firewalls, spyware programs, etc.)? Can someone give me specific details? My op. system is Win 98 II. God bless!!

    Clicky on "start"
    Clicky on "run"
type in "msconfig" (without the quote marks)

    go to the "startup" tab

uncheck what you don't want to run

    Leave your anti-virus checked

    clicky "apply"
    clicky"ok"

when your system restarts, be sure what you want to run is running. If it's not, go thru the steps above and re-enable them.

Do as they say to the startup menu but write everything down and go to this site and look up the ones that you really need and the ones that you don't need.

Then go back into your startup menu and uncheck all that you don't need.
