I have a friend's computer that getting a "Insert a boot disk" message whenever windows starts up. It was working fine a day before but when he turns it on the next day, he started getting a boot disk error. The funny part is their is no floppy drive on the computer itself (I have a external floppy drive I can probably plug in into the PC).

What should I do to fix the PC besides reformating?

    PC is WINDOWS XP.
