    again, its another STEAM problem...

    when I launch counter-strike 1.6 after double clicking on a server in the server list, I get this error message "Steam startup failed with error 1: win32 StructuredException at 020F2FOB: Attempt to write to virutal address 4043049662 without appropiate access rights.

    then a debug message comes up and says :

    Program C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe

    File: Src\launcher.cpp
    line: 367

    (putenv( sEnvSpec.c_str() )) == 0

    how to fix it?!! I know many people are also having this error!! Please help me asap!

    Do a defrag and scandisk of your hard drive, and make sure your memory is not damaged or anything.

    Does it do it if you start CS first (through the games menu), and then click a server on the list?
