    About yesterday I started my PC to unexpectedly find my personal theme settings and desktop settings switched back to classic and plain default settings (instead of my usual personal settings). Windows was behaving as if I had just started the computer up for the first time (showing me the "welcome screen"), my task manager was inaccessible, and for whatever reason Outlook Express had been uninstalled and all my email accounts and messages deleted. My browser settings, cookies, and favorites also disappeared, although Firefox and all the other programs seemed to function normally otherwise. There appeared to be no missing or deleted files besides the email messages.

    I immeadiately rebooted the computer in safe mode, and then ran MalwareByte's AntiMalware. It informed me that it successfully removed the following:

    Registry Data Items Infected:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\System\DisableTaskMgr (Hijack.TaskManager) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\ActiveDesktop\NoChangingWallpaper (Hijack.DisplayProperties) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoSetActiveDesktop (Hijack.DisplayProperties) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer\NoActiveDesktopChanges (Hijack.DisplayProperties) -> Bad: (1) Good: (0) -> Quarantined and deleted successfully.

    After this I restarted and then tried fixing everything that got screwed up. I was able to fix my desktop wallpaper by deleting an extra "desktop.ini" file placed there, and then changing it in control panel. However, every time I switch my theme/color scheme etc. back to what I want, it changed back to "modified theme"/classic view on every reboot/startup. I'm going to take a gander and say that the virus corrupted some sort of display property file, or changed a permission so that I can't permanently change it back. Any ideas on how to fix this? Here is my HijackThis log:

    Also, if you could look at my HiJack log and see if anything else fishy is going on? Thanks, I greatly appreciate the help.
