Ok, I'll be a man and admit it: I signed up to a porn site. There I said it, think what you will of me. ;)

Anyways, after I did, I am receiving a lot of porn e-mail. I don't really want it, and I can't just send them to the Junk senders list because it comes from different names and IP addresses each time.

At the bottom of a couple of them has been a unsubscribe link, but I am hesitant to click it because I heard that it could just send my email address to other senders.

I have not contacted the company that I signed up to yet. I am considering doing that soon, but I don't know what responsibility they have at this point because like I said the e-mails come from different generic names and various IP addresses.

When you signed up for the site, did you read the agreement carefully? It probably said you agree to allow them to share your e-mail address with other companies. There's nothing they can do to stop the e-mails now. All you can do is get spam filtering software or change your e-mail address.

That sucks and I know how you feel. I never signed up to anything or even surfed porn sites but it started coming in my email about 8 months ago and hasn't stopped.

I think somebody I know got infected by some sort of trojan and my email was shot to one or more of these scumbags. The flow has been relentless. I have thought about calling my ISP and changing my email address.

One thing that does work is mailwasher pro. The porn email is still sent to me but it never gets downloaded into my machine. I used to bounce it back at them but I think they are wise to it or have a way to analyze that the bounce came from mailwasher. I hate these people and wish them a slow miserable and very painful death.

Unsubscribe will not work as most of these leeches use spoofed email addresses anyway and even if you do "unsubscribe" you are just proving that the email is indeed a good one.

Good luck and if you find a way to get rid of them, please share it.

Thanks, I'll try that. It will mean I have to download it to my machine but I figure the government has people that can figure out where the crap originated. Outlook 2003 has some good filters. I'll let them come in and forward them from my junk folder to all that apply. ;)

Thunderbird has AI powered filters... you may wanna give them a shot.
Also, open a yahoo address for signing up to sites like that. That way, if you get spammed, you don't care.
