Strange file found - 336 GB .avi

Strange file found - 336 GB .avi will not open or play? How do I find out the contents of the file - Can I rename it like with another ext?

You'll have to try renaming it, there's no way we can tell if it will do it or not.

If the GB part isn't a typo that's a huge file. If you didn't create it how did it get there ?

Give the full path of its location.
Even movies, which are mp4 are not over 300 GB! A file that size wouldn't fit on several of our computers in the house.

I have a 2 hour movie on my desktop and it is 600+ MB.

My hard drive on this computer is about 140GB in size total and I have two operating systems on it.

I don't know how it got there? What kind of file is 300+ GB - you can go to the moon with less....

D:\Robert 1\Coins\File.avi my Tree File Searcher says that I accessed it 6 days ago?

more information - does that reveal that the original files was a video? with the frame rate and all?

No it doesn't, in fact it means it isn't a video, with a real video file there would be more information.

Since you don't know what it is why not just delete it ?

D:\Robert 1\Coins\File.avi
That is an unusual path. Ordinarily you have drive letter:\Users\your username which I assume is Robert1\My Videos\name of the video.extension which might be avi or mp4

You are missing Users and My Videos in the path.

Open Robert 1 and see if any other weird things are in there.
