Hi guys, got a strange thing going on and I honestly do not even know where to begin. I use software called Hyena (www.systemtools.com) to manage user accounts, active directory, GPOs, etc from my Win2k PC.
Everything worked fine when we had a Windows NT Domain, now that we moved to win2k, having issues. I will go to use the software and access an OU for example, and it will work fine sometimes. Othertimes, I get an error message stating:
Hyena can not access Active Directory path LDAP \\domaincontroller. The server is not operational.
But then I'll try later without doing anything and it will work no problem. So then I tried configuring the software to connect to another one of our domain controllers and am able to access all the OUs when I do this. But I then recieve an error stating:
Failed to open the group policy object. You may not have appropriate rights. DETAILS: The specified domain either does not exist or could not be contacted.
So I have no idea where to even begin with this one. I don't know if there is one issue here or two seperate ones (one with each DC). But the fact that it works sometimes and not other times on the one DC is very odd to me.
ANy suggestions on what to even look at?
Thanks!
