Hi to All and Happy New Year !!

I received the following message upon doing a simple Restart routine (never happened before today) :

Run Time error ' - 2147023841 (8007041f)' :
Automation error
The Service Database is locked.

[ OK ]

I replied 'OK' and the message cleared from the Desktop screen. I opened my browser with no problem and just continued along.
I am running WindowsXP SP2 Home Edition with IE6. My processor is 2.4 GHZ, 256MB of RAM, and 40GB hard drive.
If you need additional specifics, please advise. Thanks guys !!

A google search showed:

ChillControl Configuration Utility is causing your issue
have you installed it perhaps ??

Not that I know of. My 12 year old has been playing around with MySpace.com but I doubt it's come from that. What do you think ?

you'd have to look in your add/remove programs listing to see if its there
or even your programs listing on the start menu

I looked at both the Add / Remove Programs list in Control Panel and the Programs list in the Start menu and neither one lists that ChillConfiguration utility. Very weird.

Do you have a Vapochill XE II case/tower ?

go to start,run
type in MSCONFIG
press ok/enter
click on startup tab at top
do you see anything ' out of the ordinary ' in your startup listing ?

Thanks again for your responses Swiper.
My case / tower is a Gateway S 500. Nothing close to the name you described as 'Vapochill......etc.'
I checked MSCONFIG under Startup tab and found a startup item labeled simply ss .
Strangely enough this was the "title", if you will, of the small window that produced the original message as described in the beginning of this thread. I've done nothing else so far except relay this information in hopes of clearing this up. Any thoughts or solutions ??
