My monitor is as old as my PC (about 3-4 years old), and as Microsoft has available updates I download and install those. But over the past year my monitor's been acting crazy.. I have to turn the contrast ALL the way up, and the brightness ALL the way down, and even then everything is way too bright. Black pages don't look black, but dark navy blue or dark brown, and I can see the edges of internet images because of the color difference.

Any clues? It's driving me absolutely nuts.

Either the monitor or your graphics card is showing their age via loss of colour.Installing another monitor will determine which is causing the problem but my monies on the monitor.

When you swap monitors to determine the problem and if you find out its your monitor try to restart your settings. DEGAUZE i think its called. CLick that, your computer will kinda bow in and out with alittle flicker. and then try to fix the settings from there.
