Strange Windows 10 Issue

Windows 10 has had a couple of updates for me recently. So did a software that I use daily. This morning when I attempted to run the software it just starts to load and then poof it just disappears and there is no message. I thought perhaps the firewall was getting it so I disabled that to see if it would run and it still would not. Is there a way to see what is causing the issue? I wrote to the software developer but have not heard from them. Other programs seem to be working fine. Here is my pc info:

What is the name of the software ? Is it free so we can try it and see if we can duplicate the problem ?

WYSIWYG Web Builder .. the newest version and the one I am currently TRYING to run is 16 (64). I pay for this but there is a trial version. It worked two days ago. There was an updated version (the one that won't work) and windows 10 took an update as well at the same time. Now it won't even open. It tries but is shut down. I have tried all the suggested fixes online that I could find. I am at a loss. Also, I wrote to the developer last night and he said no one is having issues with the new version. He goes by what is typed on their forum.

Hi Webmamaw,

I've seen this and it surely is annoying. There is no indication of what is causing the problem and the app just won't function. It could be something in the registry or something with the app that was compatible but is not now. There could be other things such as a configuration file for the app is damaged or corrupt.

One thing to try ... In the search box enter control and open Control Panel. From there, go to Programs, Programs and Features. Click on your app, and see if there is a Repair feature, That might resolve your issue.

KhunDoug .. there is no "repair" feature. There are plenty of youtubers out there with "fixes" but nothing works and I did system restore to several days prior to the problem. Nothing helps so far. In all this now my left click stopped working on the windows icon at the bottom left. I can still right click that. Left click works fine on other things. I am starting to think the fixes are causing more problems. This is my business pc. Second day of not being able to work on it. Frustrated, among other things.

Depending on the amount of software you would need to reinstall, your best and quickest fix would be to let Windows reset itself. That process puts the OS back to a state where no apps were installed. You will need to reinstall your Web Builder tool, and anything else you added that is not part of the OS. The good news is that your data is preserved.

If you decide to go that route, go to Settings, then Update & Security, and select Recovery from the left pane. At the top you should see Reset this PC. Click Get started, and be sure to select Keep my files.
