I'm trying to hook up my blu ray player to my Century Link modem. When I use an Ethernet splitter, I get the message can't connect with the netwok both on my desktop and my blu ray player. I was told by Century Link to get a modem with more than one Ethernet port, which I did. I still get the same can't connect with the network message on both. Century Link says it should work, but it doesn't. Has anyone had success doing this?

You need a router. I never used a splitter. Don't know how that would work. What kind of device did your ISP give you?
