I'm trying to use 2 demo streaming radio recording programs separately. I get an error message saying that I'm not connected to the internet when I am. My OS is Vista buisiness. I can browse, download & connect to streaming radio stations, but the recording programs can't connect to the internet. I'm using IE7.
Any ideas how I can fix this so that I can record streaming radio?:(

Don't know if this'll help .. or answer your question ..
But I use the freeware Audacity to record anything my computer is playing ..
    http://audacity.sourceforge.net/
And can edit it after it's recorded.

And Welcome to the TSG Forum

Thanks, I'll try Audacity. Radiotracker is one of the 2 that I've been trying to get to work. It's pretty cool, but no good if it does'nt work.

Well, I downloaded Audacity & so far I have not been able to get it to record. I've tried using the settings the documentation gives, but it does'nt work. There must be a way that I can record streaming radio on my Vista system.

    Vista Strikes again
See if you have a Show Disabled devices in your Audio panel somewhere ...
and if you can enable Stereo Mix.

You should be able to get it to work with enough Poking around in the settings.
But there's been some who have not been able to get Vista to record what it is the computer is playing.
This may depend on your audio sound chip and drivers.
Newer is not always better nowadays.

There's a wire around method so you can record what your computer is playing by connecting the line-out back to the line-in ..
Then record from the line-in while the computer is playing on the line-out.
This should work in any computer ... but some laptops may have a problem

Recording what your computer is playing - Usually works around the drm problem.
I've been suspecting that this may be why Vista and the newer sound Chips/Drivers are having a problem doing this.
It is a conspiracy ??? .. It's getting so bad - one just can't have any fun anymore.

    sometimes,
    newer AIN'T always better, :(
    .
    MY 'record-what-you-hear' works just fine,
    WITHOUT misc adapters, etc :)
    .
but for those who 'just-have-to-have-the-latest-&-greatest'
all i can say is 'go for it'
but, then you have to deal with ALL that goes with it also :D
