hi. my wireless internet abruptly lost its connection and now it is stuck at "acquiring network address" , but the signal strength is at 100%. i checked the IP and it's at 0.0.0.0. i tried to release and renew and it wouldn't let me and giving error message "the operation failed as no adapter is in the state permissible for the operation." does it mean my linksys wrk54g wireless router or the linksys wpc54g ver. 4 adapter dead?
my main pc is "wired" to it and having no problems, it is just my notebook that is using the adapter.
let me know if you need something else. thanks!

IP addresses of all zeros are normally caused by one of the following.

    Diagnosis:

    1. DHCP Service not running.
    2. Duplicate IP address on the network.
    3. Bad NIC card drivers.
    4. Defective NIC hardware.

    Resolution:

    1. Check Control Panel, Administrative Tools, Services. The DHCP Client service should be Started and its Startup Type should be Automatic.
    2. Turn off ALL of the computers and other network connected devices, restart (power cycle) the router, then restart all the computers and other network devices.
    3. Check for upgraded drivers and/or reload the Network drivers.
    4. Replace the Network Interface Card.
